Technical Support
1. Please use soft water as the cooling liquid, though distilled water and purified water are also applicable. The water temperature should be controlled within a 12-30℃ range. If the water temperature is above that, please replace the cooling liquid, or switch off the water cooler.
If in a cold region, please drain the cooling water from the CO2?Laser tube after use, otherwise the cooling water may freeze and break the glass tube. (Special note: When using an alternating current, please make sure the water tank has a safe ground connection.)
2. Connecting wires should be well insulated, please use an exhauster to protect the window from being polluted.
3. The high voltage terminal should be clean and dry, as well as kept away from metal to avoid electrical discharge. Please routinely check and ensure the high voltage connecting device is fixed and the interior is intact.
4. Please use the laser equipment replacement parts in strict compliance with the rated power and current listed in the instructions. Long-term over-current operation will shorten the service life of the laser tubes. Please be smart when using the laser device, and save laser energy. The optimum power is less than 80% of the rated power.
5. Before starting the laser processing equipment, please be sure to turn on the water cooler. A water cooler with a coolant is recommended, while water pumps and water coolers without coolants are not recommended.
6. When testing the laser power of the industrial laser tube, please use Coherent branded power meters, instead of Synrad, as the latter is better suited for metal tubes.
7. The gas temperature has a significant impact on the output power of this laser cutting machine spare part. If the gas temperature rises, the output power will decrease. When the gas temperature reaches a certain critical value, the output power will decrease further, down to zero. If this happens, the force of the voltage may break the glass tube, causing property loss.
Due to this, a water cooler is needed for effective cooling of the gas temperature, which allows the laser tube to discharge properly and have an efficient photoelectric conversion.
Before switching the water cooler on, please adjust the water outlet to fully fill the cooling pipe and ensure there are no bubbles inside.
8. During the commissioning, in order to achieve the optimal power output, please adjust the supporting point or the direction of the CO2?Laser tube.
9. Please locate the two supporting points at two % positions of the tube length, and ensure the flow rate of the cooling water is 2-4L/minute. Otherwise, the beam mode will be affected, and the output power will decrease. Please also make sure that the cooling water is sufficient to fully fill the laser tube.
10. For effective heat dissipation, keep the laser tube clear and avoid lime scale formation. Lime scale can be cleaned using 20% diluted hydrochloric acid.
11. This laser engraving machine accessory is fragile. Do not put extra stress on it.
12. Routinely check the water pressure and ensure the laser tube works properly under the protection of cooling water.
13. Please correctly use the matched laser power supply.
14. If the CO2?Laser tube does not match the laser processing equipment, please modify the equipment so it will accommodate the laser tube. For example: if the laser tube is longer, you can bore holes on both ends of the machine to place the laser tube in. If the laser tube has a larger diameter, you can replace the tube holder with one in a larger diameter.
15. Generally, you can adjust the current and retain the voltage during installation and commissioning.
16. In addition to the performance of sealed laser tubes, the reflective mirror on the laser equipment and the precision of the light path will also influence the laser processing effect.
17. If the laser processing equipment does not work properly, please check the power supply and voltage transformer.

Q: How come the laser processing equipment is not working properly or effectively after starting?
A:Please check the following items: that the supporting point of the CO2?Laser tube is appropriate, the light intensity is proper and the light path is straight. Also ensure the focal length is correct, the flow rate of cooling water is normal, and finally, ensure the window of the laser tube is clean and intact. If theses still lead to no answer, the laser tube may have a quality problem.
Q: Why does the laser processing equipment work properly at first, but gradually becomes more ineffective later?
A:Please examine and ensure the supporting joint of the sealed laser tube is in its proper place. Also make sure that the water temperature is at 30℃, the laser lens has an effective heat dissipation, and the flow rate of the cooling water is regular. The cooling water should also be clean. If the above items are working properly, then inspect the laser tube for a quality problem.
Q: Why does the high voltage terminal have an electrical discharge?
A:Please keep the high voltage terminal clean, dry and away from metal. Also ensure the connecting device is fixed in a stable manner and the interior is intact. In hot and humid weather, high voltage protection is needed to ensure normal operations of the laser equipment.
Q: How come the CO2?Laser tube breaks or cracks, and the water cooled head falls off?
A:Please check and confirm the following:
1. The water temperature is controlled in a range from 25-30℃. In cold regions, the cooling water should be drained from the laser tube after use.
2. The carbon dioxide laser tube works properly under the protection of the cooling water.
3. The water pipe is in good condition.
4. The water pressure and flow rate are normal.
5. There are no bubbles inside the laser tube
6. The water flow is in the correct direction.
Q: Why does the laser processing equipment work ineffectively and have a low power?
A:First, check the beam mode of the CO2?Laser tube by placing masking tape at the first total reflector of the window. If the beam mode is not correct, please contact us. If the beam mode is in proper working condition, please check that the reflection and focus lenses are clean.
Q: When the laser tube is glowing, how come the discharge tube has a pale blue or pale purple light?
A:Determine if the total reflector and the focus lenses have no problems. If not, the light may be a result of gas leakage.
Q: Why does the inner layer of the glass laser tube break and cause a leak under the premise of standard installation and usage, as set forth by the instruction manual?
A:Ensure the window is clean and intact. If the laser optics have no problems, please contact us and provide the model number and date of production on the laser tube, as well as a video record related to the problem.
Q: How do I carry out high voltage protection?
A:Please refer to the instructions and pictures below.
(1). ZN/ ZX series CO2 Laser tube with no high voltage protection
(2). Install high voltage cable
(3). Prepare the high voltage insulating tape
(4). Use the high voltage insulating tape to tightly wrap the protection cover and the glass tube together
(5). ZN/ ZX series laser tube for medical and industrial use is completed with high voltage protection
1). F series CO2 Laser tube with no high voltage protection
(2). Wind the filament of the high voltage cable on the needle electrode
(3). Prepare the soldering iron and solder wire, and stick the wound needle electrode to the solder joint.
(4). Keep the high voltage cable and the solder wire away from the glass laser tube. (As the soldering iron has a high temperature, please do not keep it in touch with the needle electrode for a long time in order to avoid breaking the glass tube.)
(5). Prepare a heat gun and heat-shrinkable bushings with the diameter of 5mm,6 mm, 8mm,10mm and 12mm
(6). Cut the heat-shrinkable bushing into short and long pieces and use the heat gun to shrink them at the needle electrode.
(7). F series laser tube for laser cutting machine and laser engraving machine is completed with high voltage protection.

2. Within the first half of guarantee period from exit-factory date on the label, we replace free of charge if the power is less than 80% of rated power while the users operate according to our manual. The replaced laser tube will have same warranty as new ones. The single transportation freight will be afforded by buyer. When the laser tube structure is damaged or changed, we will not be responsible.
3. During the latter half of the guarantee period, we repair or replace free of charge if the power is less than 75% of rated power while the users operate according to our manual. The replaced or repaired laser tube will have same warranty as the one which buyer purchased first time from us. The single transportation freight will be afforded by buyer. When the laser tube structure is damaged or changed, we will not be responsible.
4. We are not responsible for damage or problems that occur during the incorrect usage and do not fall in line with the instruction books.
5. The quality assurance only applies to returned products that meet the following requirements:
a. The appearance and structure of the laser tube, as well as the certificate, are in good condition.
b. The window is not contaminated, scratched, or cracked.
c. If the intact laser tube being returned is damaged during transportation, EFR is not responsible.
6. If it is discovered the glass laser tube has a broken structure after arrival, please inform us within 7 days. EFR will replace the laser tube for free, though shipping is customer’s responsibility. Please note we are not responsible for a case such as this starting on the 8th day.
If we are in charge of delivery, we will carry out on-site inspection and acceptance. We are not responsible for the laser equipment replacement parts that are broken during transportation carried out by the customers.
7. The quality warrant is valid for all EFR laser products for medical and industrial use until December 31st, 2022. Items are allowed to be changed afterward, and the changed version will be done to implantation standards. Products delivered before modification are subject to the quality warranty.
